Habits.

I make a distinction between two different levels of habits. Some habits are daily habits, with immediate reward and worth doing right now. These habits are maintenance habits. Habits you have to do right now. And if you don’t have these habits in place, you will degenerate over time. Either your physical or mental state.

Other habits do not have the immediate reward. Do not have the immediate recognition of this is useful right now. These are the habits that you don’t really need to do right now. It has some future pay-off functio
