The Book of Insignificant Movements

Nailclippers - the start of part II :: Draft

Minimalists proudly publish their list of possessions online.

For years I’ve poured over them, imagining the day I can have my own list.

My day came. I had the opportunity to create a consciously crafted curated list of stuff that I claim ownership of.

It was a glorious moment. And nailclippers was not on the list. My nails got long. And I had nothing to cut them with.

How do these other minimalists maintain their nails? Regular manicures?

I’ve now bought nailclippers. And these will be the last ones I ever buy. Japanese steel, solidly constructed. Sourced through a mission to acquire the last nailclippers I will ever buy.

This is what part II of my life feels like. A slow regard for quality things, interactions and people.

That I chose. Consciously.
